Wet  &  Wild

 

 

 

The Gloucestershire Youth Service are running an activity day for young people with disabilities called Wet & Wild.

Booking Information

 

Wet & Wild is at South Cerney Outdoor Education Centre.

 

We are hoping to provide the following activities:

 

Canadian Canoeing
Dragon boats
Kayaking (single and double)
Low Ropes
Lugger Sailing
Nightline
Rafting
Single Handed Sailing
Team Challenge
Tunnels and Tubes
Wind Surfing

 

These activities may be subject to change depending on the weather conditions.  We will try and meet each young persons choice of activities, however, this cannot be guaranteed.

 

The cost of this event is £5 per young person.

 

Young people taking part in this event need to be water confident.  Those taking part in single-hand sailing, rafting, windsurfing and canoeing must be able to swim with a buoyancy aid.

                                                           

All participants must be fit to take part in the activities they choose.  The section on the Booking Form concerning disability and medical treatment must be completed.  Details of medication must be entered on the reverse of the booking form.

 

Everyone attending Wet & Wild will need;

 

 

1.

 

Complete change of old, warm clothing including  shoes.

 

2.

Old trainers/plimsolls.  These will be needed to be worn in the water so they will get wet.

 

 

3.

 

Packed lunch.

 

4.

 

Water proof clothing.

 

5.

 

Sun tan lotion and sun hat.

6.

 

Towel.

 

7.

Insurance – personal accident and loss of belongings are not insured, but participants are covered by Gloucestershire County Councils Insurance in the events of negligence by one of its employees or agents.

 

 

To bring a group to Wet & Wild Group/Club Leaders will need to do the following:

 

 

1.

Arrange transport for the group to South Cerney.

 

 

2.

Complete your normal procedures for Parental and photographic Consent .  You must bring the consent forms to South Cerney on the day.  No consent form, no activity.  Please note we need consent forms for Youth Workers and Carers taking part in the activities.

 

 

3.

Complete Club Booking Form.

 

 

4.

 Issue young people with Young Peoples Booking Form.

 

 

5.

Please return the Young Peoples and Club Booking forms and Photographic Consent form to:

  The Gloucestershire Youth Service and South Cerney will be providing all equipment and staff necessary to run the activities listed above.  Provision of appropriate Carers/Youth Workers to look after your young people, is the responsibility of your organisation.
