Most of the activities can be modified to cater for most disabilities, however some cannot. Therefore it is really important that you discuss with the young people their choice of activities, to ensure they will be able to cope with them. This will avoid disappointment on the day and ensure that they have an enjoyable and fun time. I have enclosed some photos of the crate stack, low ropes course and indoor climbing to help you in your discussions with your young people. If you have any doubts about a young person’s ability to do an activity, please give me a ring, so we can discuss the options.
The activities on offer may be subject to change depending on the weather conditions. We will try and meet each young person’s choice of activities, however, this cannot be guaranteed.
As a number of the activities are outside, young people will need to wear suitable old, warm clothing and have appropriate wet weather gear.
As the Wilderness Centre, is built on a hill side, young people with physical disabilities will need to have appropriate support, providing this support is the responsibility of your organisation.
During the day we will be taking photographs of the activities, and may use them in press releases, printed publications and on the County Council website. We are therefore required to obtain permission from the young people and adults taking part in Passport to Adventure for their photographs to be used. A photograph consent form is included
Insurance- personal accident and loss of belongings are not insured, but Gloucestershire County Council Insurance covers participants in the event of negligence by one of its employees or agents.
Due to the increasing cost of providing this event, there will be an entrance fee of £5
