Forest Challenge is
an Orienteering type event that will challenge teams of young people to complete
a course through the forest in a set time, undertaking a series of tasks on the

Activity
challenges will include: Crate Stack, Low Ropes, Archery, Initiative Tests and
Observation Tests.
Teams
Must consist of
four young people.
In the following
age groups:
Junior
Teams 11 – 14 years
Senior
Teams 15 – 21 years
Age as at the day of

Event Information |

1. |
An adult who is there for team safety must accompany all Junior Teams around the course, but not to help teams. |
|
|
|
|
2. |
There is an expectation that Leaders who bring teams will assist in the running of the
event |
|
|
|
|
3. |
Insurance; Personal accidents and loss of belongings are NOT Insured, but participants are covered by Gloucestershire County Council Insurance in the event of negligence by one of its Employees or agents. |
|
|
|
|
4. |
All Teams will be required to bring; |
|
|
Ordnance Survey, Outdoor Leisure Map 14. |
|
|
[2.5 in to 1 mile – 4cm to 1Km] |

Appropriate clothing and footwear |

Waterproof outer garments |
|
|
A change of clothing for each Team member |

Team members must be able to use Ordinance Survey

Leaders must bring Parental Consent Forms for each
young person taking
part in Forest Challenge.

|
|
|
|
|
7. |
There will be a free Barbecue for all participants and
helpers following
the event.
